Albaicín

Unesco Heritage

Declared a World Heritage Site in 1984, Albaicín was the birthplace of current-day Granada. It was a set of several independent urban communities to the northeast of the Alcazaba Cadima.

It is located between San Cristóbal, Sacromonte, Elvira street, and the Alhambra. The neighborhood is full of churches that were once mosques, such as El Salvador church and San Gregorio church. It also contains monasteries and beautiful villas overflowing with flowers.

Granada’s history is revealed in its narrow streets, plazas, and buildings from particular eras—a true reflection of the cultural and social transformations of the city. Discover this magical place with a touch of Arab culture.
