In June 1898 one of the most brilliant poets in the history of Spain was born in Fuente Vaqueros, Granada: Federico García Lorca. The poet had a clear vocation for music, but his father did not like it, so he studied Humanities and Law.
Lorca did not stand out for being a brilliant student, but he was strongly influenced by his mother, Vicenta Lorca Romero, who at that time had been a school teacher for some time, and whose university degree is still intact in the Lorca family home, together with that of her son Federico. She was one of the people who took a decisive role in instilling a passion for culture and literature in her children, and it was precisely Federico García Lorca who excelled in this facet.
